Why hasn’t anyone told me about “Dry Brushing”
Give your skin a treat with this ancient practice. Invigorate your cells, collagen, senses and more with dry brushing. I was reading a book on Ayurvedic methods for health, and was particularly interested in detoxing. God has given us amazing bodies and methods for healing ourselves. The Ayurvedic methods are interesting to me. Upon reading, I came across a section about “dry brushing.” It seems like I’ve heard about this before, but forgot the benefits. I asked a massage therapist friend about it, and she was not taught anything about dry brushing in school. Hmmm.
Inexpensive. So, all you have to invest in is a dry brush, those exfoliating “scratchy gloves” or a good loofah. My husband and I love the “scratchy gloves.” Read the link below for additional “how tos.”
You might think you are simply doing a SUPER exfoliation on your body and cellulite, but wait there’s more! Exfoliating and stimulating collagen is wonderful! Especially if you are losing weight, but what else happens?
Think about this…your skin is not just home to collagen, but home to nerves, and glands, and lymph nodes. When you dry brush, you are able to remove dead skin cells that are clogging the release of toxins, you are able to stimulate the lymph nodes which release toxins, and you get to increase circulation which removes even more metabolic waste!
Brush, shower and lastly hydrate with an antioxidant collagen supporting or skin firming lotion. Double Wow.
There are no words to describe how dry brushing feels. It is as if everything “wakes up.” It is worth doing weekly or daily. If you are aging, or losing weight it would be very important to do dry brushing in efforts to keep your skin supple and to free toxins. Once you add this in your routine, you may just become addicted! It’s so easy, and quick with amazing benefits for your skin and body. Brush. Shower. Nourish.
